Para Cycling Time Trial Delivers Strong Performances at Toyota SASAPD Nationals

The Para Cycling Time Trial at the 2026 Toyota SASAPD National Championships produced a full day of competitive racing, with athletes across multiple age groups and classifications delivering strong performances on the course.

According to the official results from Sunday, 29 March , Free State emerged as a dominant force across several categories, securing multiple top positions and showing depth across both junior and open divisions.

In the U15 categories, Nicisha Slabbert (Free State) claimed victory in the women’s division, while Charl Joubert (Western Cape) took top honours in the men’s race. The U17 division saw Thato Antoon (Free State) secure first place in the C4–C5 category, while Milani Bongaza (Western Cape) delivered a strong performance to win the T2 class.

The U19 and U21 divisions continued to highlight the strength of the Free State contingent, with riders such as Denzel Mokone and Lehloane Leshoro taking victories in their respective categories. Western Cape also featured among the top performers, with Jade Coetzee and Zinray Buis securing wins in key divisions.

In the open categories, Seiso Shaliba and Mojalefa Majake, both representing Free State, delivered winning performances to close out a strong showing for the province.

The Time Trial event reflected both the depth of talent and the competitive standard of Para Cycling in South Africa, with athletes using the opportunity to test themselves across distances and classifications as part of the national championships programme.
