Goalball Coaching Course Set for Stellenbosch

SASAPD has confirmed an exciting development opportunity for coaches with the upcoming Goalball Coaching Course taking place on 25–27 March 2026 at Sports Hall, Coetzenburg, Stellenbosch.

This three-day course is aimed at strengthening the standard of goalball coaching in South Africa by equipping coaches with more structured, directed and effective training methods. With the continued growth of goalball across the country, the need for well-prepared and confident coaches remains a key priority.

The course will be presented by Alex Dunney, an experienced goalball coach who will guide participants through practical and theoretical components designed to improve session planning, athlete development and overall game understanding. Coaches can expect hands-on learning, technical breakdowns and practical tools that can immediately be implemented within their clubs and programmes.

Goalball remains one of the flagship codes within SASAPD, providing competitive opportunities for visually impaired athletes at provincial, national and international level. Strengthening the coaching base is a critical step in ensuring sustained athlete development and long-term success.
