Track Events
Track events run from 100m sprints to distance races, including wheelchair racing and guide-running for visually impaired athletes.

Para athletics is the largest and most successful code in South African para sport. From track sprints to field throws, our athletes have delivered more Paralympic medals than any other discipline — across every Games since 1992.
Every para athletics competitor is assigned a sport class based on how their impairment affects their ability to run, jump, or throw. Events are coded T (track) or F (field), followed by a number that groups athletes of similar function together.

Field events include javelin, shot put, discus and long jump, contested seated or standing depending on classification.
