Gouws wins T37 200m title in Women's Grand Prix
South Africa’s Liezel Gouws has won the T37 200m at the World Para Athletics Women's Grand Prix in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
The event features 184 athletes from 42 nations, including top Paralympic stars and is a women-only Grand Prix introduced to promote female participation in para sport.
She won her heat in 30.37sec and went faster in the final to win in 29.83.
Another South African, who also competed at the 2026 Toyota SASAPD National Championships, Simone Kruger, is also in action in Czechia. The 2024 Paralympic gold medallist is also a two-time world champion (Paris 2023 and Kobe 2024). She will compete in the F38 discus and F38 shot put.
The shot put is Friday and the discus is Saturday.
