With the championships now taking place on their home ground, Eastern Cape athletes are ready to build on this success. Nelson Mandela Bay has been preparing to welcome these athletes and showcase the region’s commitment to developing disability sports.

One of the most anticipated events this year is CP Football, a sport that captured hearts at the 2024 championships. The matches promise to be competitive, with teams striving to claim top honors in Gqeberha.

The Newton Aquatic Centre will once again host the para swimming events, offering a world-class venue for athletes to compete in. Swimmers are preparing to challenge themselves in various categories, aiming to make their mark in the pool. Meanwhile, the para powerlifting stage is set to inspire with displays of strength and determination as athletes push their limits in this demanding sport.

Adding to the excitement is the para judo competition, where athletes will rely on their technical skills and strategic approaches to secure victories. This discipline, known for its precision and intensity, is sure to keep spectators on the edge of their seats. Additionally, para cycling, goalball, boccia, and para athletics will bring further variety and energy to the championships.
